i've been in the health-care industry about 22 years. four years ago i decided to a upbraid my skills, because it was an area of health care that was starting to increase in the area i live. -- upgrade my skills. i live in southern california. i'm not quite sure if she can help me with any statistics on this area, but the jobs that i applied for now have been where you must be bilingual or use the phrase "we prefer you to be bilingual." all the of the skills are in place to do the job. but that is one problem i have faced for almost four years of trying to keep a job in the area of health care. there have been times i have gone to certain doctors' offices, even some hospitals, where the entire staff are hispanic and they tell you it is because we cater to a lot of people who do not speak english. host: thank you. guest: i appreciate that conundrum, because it is one that i share. unfortunately, i am not bilingual. in my field there are many jobs i cannot remotely compete for because they primarily serve the latino population, people that
